About Us

FATTORIA PUGLIESE DIFFUSA was founded in 2009, thanks the Regional Government which granted its foundation on the basis of the activities planned for the social development of the regional rural areas.

It is  a non-profit Civil Society Organization, made by young and adult people. It’s mission is to promote and facilitate the development of rural and undeveloped areas in EU and Third Countries, thanks to the implementation of projects concerning active citizenship, participatory democracy, volunteering, youth, social inclusion, promotion of civil rights, sustainable development, environment protection, organic farming and biodiversity, nature and sport, outdoor activities.

FPD focuses its attention on European mobility, both for the personal development of its members (including staff members) and for the growth of local partner organizations at International level.

The main target group is youth under 35 y.o., but the organization also works with seniors. Both the categories have in common the fact they include disadvantaged people from rural and peripheral areas. The young people are mainly NEET, and FPD offers them several opportunities to be trained and educated in order to boost their active citizenship and participation in the policy-making process and enrich their curricula for getting more chances for job-placement or self-employment opportunities.

FPD cooperates with several Public and Private entities at all levels, such as:

a) Municipality of Taurisano (IT), Tiggiano (IT), Ruffano (IT) and Castrignano del Capo (IT) – it cooperates in the organization of local events in several fields (waste collection, Music festivals, youth participation in decision making processes, …) and in international projects for promoting intercultural dialogue and learning opportunities;

b) Province of Lecce (IT) – projects concerning young people’s involvement in local initiatives concerning ecology and biological food in rural areas;

c) Region of Puglia (IT) –projects concerning promotion of natural resources of rural areas;

d) Several EU NGOs are partners in the implementation of Youth Exchanges, Youth and Democracy projects, Training Courses on different topics, Strategic Partnerships, European Remembrance, Networks of Towns and Organizations. Among them, we count Integra Onlus (integration of refugees and asylum seekers) and Amahoro Onlus (Cooperation for development of third Countries, such as Kenya and Madagascar).

FPD has directly contributed to the establishment and it is member of several Networks, such as:

e) “JoyNeet” Network of European Towns, including 11 EU Towns and organizations around Europe;

Thanks to the cooperation with the “Touristic Info Points” of 4 municipalities in the Region, the organization takes care of the project management and implementation of several initiatives for the promotion of the traditional culture, food, music, habits of the territory, by involving disadvantaged youth, facing social and economic obstacles.
